Alan Lowen

Featured Now - Alan Lowen has been creating and leading workshops for 38 years and has established an international reputation as a premier guide for people seeking to accept, integrate and celebrate all aspects of their personal life and being.

Alan studied psychology at London and Oxford universities. His first mentor in the Human Potential realm was Dr. Carl Rogers. In 1977 he became a disciple of Osho Rajneesh, and lived in his ashram, continuing to lead his workshops there until 1985. A few years later he founded The Art of Being® as a path of self-realization and spiritual awakening. In 2002 he won the UK Kindred Spirit award for his contribution to the field of personal transformation. He has just finished writing his first book and is looking to publish it in 2012 under the title, Keep Being Here Anyway. Here you watch Alan's recent interview for conscious.tv in London, England.

Alan chooses to engage with the essential themes of our lives – with our personal stories and relationships, the influences on us of our birth and childhood, with our fundamental male-female nature, with sex and love and soul, and with the universal experience of death and dying. In Art of Being workshops they all become paths of opening, healing and awakening. They invite you into the celebration of a body-, heart- and soul-awake BEING who is present to all that is: YOU, HERE, NOW!

The challenge is to PRACTICE LETTING GO OF COMPLAINING
AS AN EVERY-MOMENT MEDITATION.

There are 2 simultaneous components to this challenge. The first only has its transforming potential because of the second.

1. For one 24 hour period after listening to my teleseminar, every time you catch yourself, LET GO OF COMPLAINING! It doesn't matter what the complaint is about or to whom it is directed. This includes complaints that are not even verbal. A gesture or a sigh can be full of complaint! Letting go means releasing yourself from the whole energy of complaining. Breathing it away as you breathe out is very helpful, and of course, you have to let it go IMMEDIATELY YOU BECOME AWARE THAT YOU ARE IN COMPLAINT MODE.

2. As you let the complaint go, BECOME AWARE OF THE INNER SPACE THAT THE COMPLAINT WAS OCCUPYING! BE FRIENDLY TOWARDS EVERYTHING YOU EXPERIENCE IN THAT SPACE. This may not be easy at first.

Meditation means BEING WITH WHAT IS. This challenge is a meditation! You have to be willing, every time you let a complaint go, to be with all that you experience, and TO LET IT BE SO. After a while you will begin to love what is happening to you. Afterwards, come to the online forum for this Challenge and share what you experienced, because I would love to know how this practice impacted your awareness and your life.

PS: if the practice inspires you, you are allowed to continue it for the rest of your life.

This teleseminar will lead into a Weekend Workshop Intensive.
