Emirates resumes flights to Beijing and Shanghai after restrictions are lifted

Dubai-based the carrier has already scheduled flights to Shanghai. Starting from January 20, two departures are planned every week, from February 2 there will be four, and from March 1, Emirates will fly daily.

Flight from Dubai to Shanghai — non-stop, but on the way back the plane will make a short intermediate stop in Bangkok. Flights in both directions will become direct from March 1.

Flights between Dubai and Beijing have been postponed until March 15, when Emirates will resume daily flights to the Chinese capital. Flights will be operated on Boeing 777–300 with First, Business and Economy Class.

Emirates already flies to Guangzhou, moreover, from February 1, the carrier intends to switch to a schedule of seven times a week and put on the line its flagship Airbus A380. 

At the start of the pandemic, Emirates tried to retake mainland China but had to withdraw for almost three years due to severe travel restrictions that reduced demand and made it difficult to operate in the region.< /p>

On Monday, Emirates said it had been asked to resume flights to Beijing and Shanghai after lifting restrictions such as mandatory quarantines.

Last week, China's Civil Aviation Authority said it predicted by the end of 2023, international flights to and from China will reach 80 percent of pre-pandemic levels.
