There are at least 5 ways to get to Brest from Minsk:
- By train
- By bus
- And on various kinds of rides.
The fifth option is a trip with a tour. But it is worth talking about it separately. Therefore, let's put it out of the brackets for now.
Well, for starters, let's deal with the classic options for a trip. What transport to choose? How much are the tickets? And how to make your trip as comfortable and budget-friendly as possible? I will talk about all this later in this “transport” review.
Train Minsk – Brest: brief information 5-sposobov-f5a8dbd.jpg” alt=”How to get from Minsk to Brest: 5 ways!” />
Travel time: 3 to 4.5 hours (depending on the specific flight).
Ticket price: from 14.5 to 33 BYN.
< strong>Where can I find train timetables? On the website RW.BY or pass.rw.by.
The same, but rotated
There are 10 trains from Minsk to Brest every day. The schedule is very convenient, so you can go to the west of the country both in the morning and late in the evening.
Most trains are “Business Class” trains with seats (!)for passengers. They are very new. The carriages have a toilet and sockets under the seats. Also, these trains are pretty fast. Therefore, you can get to Brest in 3-3.5 hours.
They have, in fact, only two minuses– these are rather high prices and not the most logical placement of seats in the cabin. Some of them are looking at each other. Some lined up three in a row. But in general, these are trifles.
Regular (reserved seat and compartment) seats are available on international flights that follow from Russia. They are older but slightly cheaper. Tickets here can be bought for 14 BYN or a little more.
As I wrote above, you can use the site RW.BY to buy tickets. It is very comfortable. E-tickets do not need to be printed. And they will just let you into the car with your passport.
But if you are an Old Believer passenger, then, of course, you can go to the ticket office of the station. It is located in Minsk near the metro station “Lenin Square”. You can buy tickets both in the main building and in a small building next door. It looks like this.
And usually there is just less queue.
Minibuses from Minsk to Brest. All the main things in a nutshell.
Travel time: 4-5 hours.
Tickets: from 22 BYN.

About the pros and cons of minibuses
Minibuses are a weapon of Satan. They are designed to test your knees and torture you all the way with low-quality films with Gosha Kutsenko. And many transport companies have such amazing websites that it seems that drunk Vietnamese schoolchildren made them in the dark.
As you can see, I don't like minibuses. But I still ride them sometimes.
Firstly, there are a lot of them. And you can leave for Brest at almost any time. And they're just often cheaper than trains. Therefore, if something did not work out with rail transport, you can pay attention to them.
The main thing is to look at where a particular flight departs from. Most of the minibuses depart from the central bus station. But there are also those that depart from the platform near the Institut Kultury metro station.

A few words from myself
The first thing to say right away is that many « buses to Brest are surprisingly similar to minibuses. They are so similar that you can't tell them apart. At the time of publication of the article, I found only one full-fledged MAZ in the schedule. And everything else is small models like Mercedes Sprinter.
Therefore, you can not count on a large legroom here either. I repeat once again – for the most part these are the same minibuses (only state-owned companies). The most unreliable option, since everything here is built on the principle of “As you agree.” You can find fellow travelers to Brest on the websites blablacar and edem.rf. As well as in different VK groups (for example, on the page vk.com/poputchik_minsk_brest).
Excursions to Brest from Minsk
If you are going to Brest as a tourist, then this option should be considered one of the first. You will be picked up from the center of Minsk, taken by a good bus to the west of the country and will be taken to all the main points in 1 day. You will walk around the city center, see the Brest Fortress and the Thirst memorial, and then go to Belovezhskaya Pushcha (feed the deer and take selfies with bison).
Such excursions are now organized by several travel companies. Their programs are slightly different. Sometimes the Kamenets Tower is added to the route, sometimes the estate of Father Frost. But these are all add-ons from the “Add to taste” category. In general terms, all such trips are quite similar.
As a rule, the price includes travel to Brest and Belovezhskaya Pushcha, services of a professional guide, free tickets to museums and the same free lunch. For more information, please click on the boxes below.
It may seem that a trip with a guided tour costs twice as much as two train tickets. But it is not so. Add to your travel receipts your expenses for lunch, tickets to museums and travel to Belovezhskaya Pushcha – and you will get plus or minus the same amount as in the case of an independent trip.
How to find accommodation in Brest now?
… In fact, excursions have only one minus – their duration. Brest is a good city, and it is quite possible to devote two or even three days to it to see everything in a more relaxed rhythm.
But in this case you will have to rent accommodation here. And as you know, Booking and AIRBNB do not work in Belarus anymore.
Alternatively, I can recommend this site.
The choice of accommodation here is not so great, but of all the available options, this one is the best right now .
If you need not an apartment, but rather a a good hotel for the duration of your trip, then pay attention to this option. We once wanted to stay here with my wife. This hotel is not cheap, but for a romantic weekend it is just fine.
If, on the contrary, you are looking for maximum budget options, then pay attention to the mini-hotel “Gogol” or a hotel “Youth”. They are without frills, but they look quite decent.
What to see in Brest?

Read this post. It will help you better prepare for your trip. Well, now I just have to say goodbye. Thank you for reading the article to the end. Bye everyone! Imagine that with these words I disappear into the scarlet rays of the sunset.
