Turkish Airlines will launch scheduled flights to Istanbul from Katowice Airport

Turkish Airlines will launch regular flight program from Katowice Airport to Istanbul on March 3, 2023. The route will be served by an Airbus A320 aircraft. Initially, flights will be available five times a week: on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Turkish Airlines will offer scheduled flights from a regional Polish airport to Istanbul for the first time in history, according to Polish officials. The new route will facilitate business and scientific contacts and will have a positive impact on the development of tourism. Passengers will have access to the impressive network of routes offered by Turkish Airlines from its modern airport in Istanbul.

Katowice Airport — one of the largest regional airports in Poland. In 2019, it served 4.84 million passengers, with two million of them flying on charter flights. The coronavirus pandemic, which triggered the biggest crisis in aviation history, has slowed down projected growth in passenger traffic. In 2020, Katowice Airport received 1.44 million passengers, and in 2021 — 2.32 million. In 2022, the airport plans to serve about 4.5 million passengers.

Katowice Wojciech Korfanty Airport is the leader in charter flights in the country and the regional leader in cargo transportation.
